I bought it then saw some negative reviews and regretted it for a second. Came today, collected 25 minutes, it would have taken less time but my cat insisted to help. Overall assembly wasn't difficult. Just attaching the backrest to the seat was a bit fiddly, but doable. Although you may need someone else's help if you don't have strong hands. The hardest part of the assembly were the armrests. First you need to put the screw in the section that attaches to the backrest, screw it in firmly, and then pull fairly hard so the bottom line lines up with the screw hole. There are no labels in the instructions, just pictures. Regardless, they are VERY easy to follow and not at all confusing like some illustrated instructions I've seen. Clever design, everything is plastic, the frame, armrest frame etc are hard plastic not metal. The cover on the chair itself is actually quite soft and seems easy to keep clean and doesn't attract cat hair (a HUGE plus for me as my cat gets hair all over). I had no trouble adjusting the chairs. Height, and its ability to recline works beautifully. I also had no problem keeping it from tipping over. I'm a tall girl, 225 pounds, I've sat in this chair and I don't feel like it's going to break anyway, and the padding is MORE than enough. comfortable sitting for hours. I sit in it and, unlike cheaper chairs, I don't feel anything hard, just soft padding. The back rests on the lower back exactly where it should be. If your height is between 5ft 2 and 5ft 5 the back brace is perfect, if you are taller it may not be as good. I'm 5ft 3cm tall and the back of the chair ends at about neck level. My main concern is that it's too heavy, although I feel safe sitting on it myself. I don't want my husband to sit in it, he is 340lbs and 6ft tall, I think that would push the limits of this chair. I won't test it to find out though as I can't afford to replace it if it breaks. All in all I would say give this chair a try, it's worth the money. I'll update this again in a few months after I have time to hack it.
