Review on ๐Ÿ” Enhanced Smittybilt Replacement Soft Top with Tinted Windows - 9971235 by Jeff Robeson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent value for money and quality. - Spare parts

My 2005 TJ had the original top for over 17 years. I took a chance due to my limited budget and am very happy with the end result. There really isn't much of a difference between the Smitty top and my original. Vinyl windows are a bit thinner but easier to work with. This top is actually easier to work with than the original canvas. It tends to have a few wrinkles which I expected and I'm fine with that. The zippers are comparable to the original. The hardest part was attaching the top to the title bar, but it's not hard with patience. Make sure to put it up on a hot summer day and put the pieces in the sun for a while to make them more flexible. Do not even try if the temperature is below 70 degrees. Removing the old lid was very easy. All this took me about 2 hours because I worked slowly and methodically. With the zipper, rounding off the corners of the rear window was a bit tricky. Just take your time, don't use force, and make sure you stretch the top so the zipper can connect the top to the rear window. This was the first time I've replaced a convertible top. In general I am very satisfied. I haven't had it in a rainstorm yet so can't comment on its ability to shed water. At just over $200, the price couldn't be better. See photos.
