socks are nice and light and have some padding at the bottom. I love gray soles because all our white socks turn gray anyway! This is definitely for older kids, not toddlers. My 3.5 year old who wears size 9 toddler shoes fits in perfectly but my almost 2 year old who wears size 5.5 toddler shoes has room in the socks. They appear to have a stripe around the midfoot and I loved these socks for myself so I can safely assume the kids will love them too.
