Review on Camco Olympian GM-3X Gas Match: Adjustable Flame, Refillable with Lighter Fuel, Fuel Viewing Window & Safety Lock (57549) by Rashid Summers

Our propane salesman recommended a Camco Olympian GM-3X Adjustable Flame Gas Match to light our new fire pit. It works great if you can load it with butane. But the instructions on the packaging leave a lot to be desired. He recommends Ronson Butane, but other brands will do as well. I live in a remote area where I couldn't find Ronson but found other brands. Unfortunately, there were butane canisters with two different nozzles. When I looked at the GAs Match, the guy at the hardware store and I figured the one with the larger nozzle would work. It didn't work, although the Camden rep told me it should work (I sent him a photo of what I had). I finally figured out what kind of bait to use. See photo. The little plastic nozzle on the left glass is what you need. The metal nozzle on the right glass doesn't work - it just sprays butane everywhere. In addition, the instructions on the packaging are minimal. So, here's what you do when you have the right kind of butane can. There is a small hole in the bottom of the gas match. Follow the instructions provided to leave the protective cap on the firing tip and install the safety interlocks on both the top and bottom of the tool. Turn the match upside down to reveal the refill hole. Point the spout of the butane gas can down into the filler opening. When you push down, butane is expelled. There is a small window on the gas match, so you can see how much liquid is poured into the gas match. I wish Camco had better instructions on the type of butane bottle and how to refill and wish they had better customer service. That being said, the Camco Olympian GM-3X Flame Adjustable Gas Match is great with its long ignition stick.
