Review on Cuisinart SG-10 Electric Spice-and-Nut Grinder, Stainless/Black: The Perfect Kitchen Companion for Grinding Spices and Nuts by Brian Stepp

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The glass is leaking underneath, the plastic inside is melting, the blades won't come off

I bought this after doing a lot of research and reading a blog that rated it as the #1 1. lists between grinding spices and nuts. But on second use I see the following issues: 1. The jar/jar has a gap under the blades as mentioned in some other reviews. I didn't understand that part why there is a gap in your design for something to get into the mill motor. I made a mess on the kitchen table cleaning it. Anyway, 2. There isn't an ergonomic holder on the bottom of the blades so I couldn't remove it. I also used a towel because these are sharp blades and you don't want to use your bare hands. I nearly cut my fingers removing the blades. If I can't just remove it, how can I clean it? Who designed this thing? 3. I always make sure the food I'm grinding is either room temperature or cooler. On first use it did a decent job but didn't transform the fine spice powder. But the second time I used it, the plastic in the glass melted, great! I had to throw away all the spices I ground but imagine if they hadn't melted I would have eaten that plastic without my knowledge. Again, who designed this? I like Cuisinart (pans) but to be honest it's a crappy product.

Pros
  • It's a pleasure
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add
