Beware of scammers. It claims to allow speeds of up to 300Mbps, but allows speeds of up to 10Mbps "until you call support and ask for a speed increase". I bought this item 2 years ago. I used to have a 10Mbps Xfinity connection. The modem worked perfectly with 10 MBit. After 2 years I upgraded my connection to 50Mbps and expected the modem to keep up the speed. But to my shock, the Netgear guys said it only supports speeds up to 10Mbps, and to increase the speed limit I have to take out a 6-month tech support subscription for $99. Point of purchase, why should I pay $99 to increase speed. Also, the cost of technical support exceeds the cost of a new modem. I had to bang my head and write letters to increase my speed.
