That's what I would call an athletic fit. I have a 46 bust (maybe 47) and this XL fits perfectly. I also have a 34-36 waist and am just under 6ft (if you have a big belly then you're used to ordering by that). It fit me like I was used to trying on clothes. This is the 4th vest I've ordered from other manufacturers in the last week in the same size and I'm convinced the other 3 think everyone who rides a motorcycle is pear shaped. If you want to wear it over a coat then it should be 1-2 sizes bigger. Carrying it around will print it unless it's a smaller framed weapon (J frame, 5 shots is perfect for this vest).
