The Caldera Releaf collar is not a medical device, but it has provided me with more comfort than any other foam medical device collar I have had over the years. This is a true technical product (not just a block of foam wrapped in gauze and approved by regulators). The Releaf collar is designed to sleep mainly while sitting or lying down, e.g. B. when flying in an airplane. (That's why I bought this first one a few years ago.) The collar is quite stiff in the vertical direction to comfortably support your head when sleeping in those positions. I work great for this cause. I have found that it also offers comfort during activities such as driving, working at a desk, reading or similar activities. I found it uncomfortable to wear while exercising or working (it gets very hot and sweaty) or lying down (it puts too much pressure on my neck when I'm sleeping on my side). The shutter has a reach of approximately five inches (127mm). Wear it correctly to fit two fingers between collar and neck, it should not obstruct your breath IF you are the right size. (For example, I wear an 18" US shirt and the size medium is too tight for me.) I find it very comfortable when used as intended, much more comfortable than medical device collars. It is also less bulky than medical devices. I wash them on a normal cycle with cold or lukewarm water (no chlorine bleach and with the Velcro closed!) and let them air dry. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a headrest for flying, driving and some other activities.
