I don't understand why people don't think it's not real leather unless they get a different brand (my order was sold and shipped by BDK). All they have to do is sniff it. The thickness of the skin is approximately equal to the thickness of the cow's epidermis. I've been using this style of steering wheel cover for a few decades now, both vinyl and leather. Inevitably, the seams always begin to unravel, and the cover itself becomes defective. This one is no better quality than any others I've used, leather or not. The firmware is just as bad. My previous case lasted 4 years before I decided to buy this one. Ironically, when I took the old one off I decided to clean it and what I thought were defects were just dirt. I can probably get another year out of that. I touched up the excess threads with glue to keep them from unraveling and when I turn them right side up they look new. Even after years of use, the lid is really smooth and even more comfortable, especially after cleaning. If you already have one, try cleaning it up a bit and you'll probably be surprised. Maybe you can delay a new purchase for a while.
