That worked, but I don't understand how. The instructions (you can see them in the second photo of the listing) tell you what to do but not why and I'd love to know why! How does cutting one wire 5mm shorter than the other end up ending up on a hot blade? I want to see the cut. Also, I had an SPT-1 wire, but I had to really squeeze it there - it's stuck and it takes some force to close the lid.
