Generations of carpenters on both sides of this family have used Lufkin for the last hundred years. This name stands for reliable quality. No longer. Maybe a $25 model would have been acceptable, but I bought it for teens and figured the $15 would be good enough since it's a Lufkin. It is not. The wood is rough and unfinished in places and the whole block does not fit together well. It's good at measuring and the markings are clear, but it's a shame to use. To return.
