UPDATE: The straight stitch also snapped the thread so it was sent back. Maybe I have a bad box but I don't think so as others have had the same issues. At first everything was fine, then every 5th or 6th stitch started to break, so the tension and right side of the pattern was adjusted, including thread breakage every 3 stitches. So not a fan. But it probably works fine for a straight stitch so I'll leave it and try. A bit disappointed as some of the reviews said high quality and then saw that these reviews were from customers with priority in other areas. So be careful when you buy. The Walmart thread seems to be where I go.
