I really like these containers. They look great sealed and will hold a full 5 pound sack of flour. Flour needs to be poured and packed, but you can get anything. I just gently tap the bottom of the counter and the flour presses. You get a few extra labels and the chalk pen works perfectly. You must be able to place the lid in the container in the unsealed position in order to use it. Otherwise the lid will not fit properly and will not close. They seem to scratch fairly easily, but it's not very noticeable when full. Washing the lids is a pain. Water seeps into the plastic liner and can seep into the lid. I had to remove the plastic wrap and use a paper towel as it was still damp after a few days. At some point the water seemed to drip out of the lid and in the end everything was fine. It only happened with one or two lids. All in all great containers and I would definitely recommend them. I wish they came in more sizes and purchase options.
