I needed this stopper for my bathroom door. If you measure how far the towel rail sticks out, it's about 4 inches, so the 3-inch doorstops from the center of the home are useless. Someone had previously tried using a doorstop that attaches to the door hinge via a pivot, but that didn't allow the door to swing far enough. In fact someone broke the door open and the doorstop blasted a hole in the door. This 4 inch doorstop allows me to only open the door wide enough so that it doesn't hit the towel rail next to it. Ideal!
