I have been drinking wine for almost 20 years but have never had a decanter. It was like an unnecessary kitchen product. I still don't have a designed ice cream scoop as spoons should work, and the pizza cutter was a relatively new addition to the kitchen considering I've always had knives. But after reading more about decanters and increasing my wine consumption due to Covid I figured why not. The difference was instant! I had a taxi bottle that I never had. I poured the bottle into the carafe and it dripped down the sides like in the photo. I poured half a glass from the middle of the bottle into a drinking glass before pouring the rest into the carafe. Tried unedged and . it was rough around the edges! This is not a wine review so all I can say is that I didn't see the point in buying it again. After 5-10 minutes I tasted the wine from the carafe and honestly was amazed at the difference. The sharp edges are gone and everything is smoother. Has it become one of my favorites, a staple on my wine rack, no; but it changed from a bottle I might not have finished to one I made. When rough wines become palatable, hopefully this will take it up a notch. Rinsed it out and it's waiting for the next bottle. I'm glad I made the purchase.
