My son is 4 years old, about 43 inches tall, weighs 43 pounds and I ordered him a slightly larger swimsuit so hopefully it will last the rest of this summer and into next (a trick I learned when I was grew up in a big family). . The material is unusual compared to other swimwear he's had but dries very quickly and hasn't had any complaints of discomfort or noticeable chafing anywhere.
