wall switches everywhere!

I used to have a similar set of remote switches but one day a faulty lamp shorted out. They are MUCH better than the ones I had before. BETTER THAN SMART SWITCHES: After my last few remote switches blew, I tried using "smart" switches - they're the DUMPEST things I've ever dealt with! If the internet goes down, you can't turn on the light! I couldn't find any battery powered wall switches; so I would have to say "ALEXA! TURN ON THE LIGHT IN THE LIVING ROOM!” I'd rather just hit the switch on the wall when I enter the room. Then I found the Samsung "Smart Button" - also stupid! The button requires a hub that is not compatible with the switches I have. I had to try a workaround by creating an IFTTT script to just turn on the light with a button! Then there are processing delays (maybe IFTTT was delayed?). I pressed the button several times and nothing happened. After about 15 seconds, my light flashed on and off about 5 times. The neighbors must think I'm crazy. Pooh! The whole thing is so disappointing and stupid; there's nothing smart about that. When I saw this switch at Revain I jumped at it. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED! It only took a few minutes to set up and everything works great. ADVANTAGES: - Easy programming. - You can mix and match switches and sockets. For example, I have two switches that each control two separate outlets in a room from each other. - Dedicated ON position and OFF position. My previous one just turned on/off. This was a problem when the two outputs were out of sync. It doesn't have this problem. - Looks like a typical backstage style wall switch; not a strange device. - The switch can be installed anywhere as it is battery operated. CONS: - Uses the less common A23 12V battery. It's easy to connect to the network, but AAA would be better. The design of the switch is a little flimsy. It would be nice if it was a slightly better design. - Not UL listed. Not critical, but it would be a good peace of mind. I'll get a few more of these. Much luck!

Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
