Review on Aisin DLT 027 Door Lock Actuator by Johnny Weber

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great OEM replacement but the engine seems to be the weak link

Lexus/Toyota are notorious for these door lock actuators failing. My 2013 ES had a front door that failed under warranty in 2015 and 2020. Then, shortly after, all 3 other doors failed. This is an OEM part and AISIN has all 4 door operators for my 2013 ES available on Amazon. As others have said, the installation can be done with a little patience and watching YouTube videos. Back doors are heavier than front doors but can save you hundreds of trips to the dealership. And last thing that escaped the attention of another test: the weak link in the drive appears to be a tiny motor that doesn't power the entire drive. The Revain has an $8 motor, and with a little patience and watching YouTube videos, you can save even more money. Lexus told me $700 a door, and with that you can do it for about $100, but with the motor you can do it for $8 a door. If you're mechanically inclined, just buy a motor and do it yourself.

Pros
  • Rear attachments include a child safety lock system
Cons
  • Out of style
