To be honest I was frustrated finding a helmet that would fit my 2 year old. I didn't like the helmets you can find in local stores because of the "elastic back" feature. Even with size 1+ the helmet can be easily moved. I was disappointed that the description didn't include an actual size, so here we go. - SIZING ESTIMATION - My daughter is almost 2 years old, her head (circumference) measures almost 19 inches (80th percentile if that helps you with a link). I bet on this helmet as I didn't have a size reference and when I was able to put it on her head I can tell you that 19 inches is the small size this helmet can fit. down to the smallest size but when I took them off I was very close to the smallest she could wear. I LOVE that it sits securely without creasing on your head. As for the largest size that can fit, the swivel feature offers more height than the helmet itself. The inside of the helmet measures nearly 21 inches, which would be just over most of the head. My best guess would be no more than 22 inches and it would be tight (most helmets only allow 1.5 inches of deflection, but I've seen up to 2 inches). The dial was a bit lower than I would have liked but it doesn't cut her throat and I'm sure when she grows up it will be in the right place for her at 3 as that's the recommended age anyway. My suggestion to Schwinn is to include actual head measurements in the description. ALL riding helmets fit and this makes the helmet purchase less stressful. On the surface - there was no yellow sealant on my helmet (it was pink) and I liked it even better. He doesn't look huge either, although she can still grow into him. I am more than satisfied with my purchase! Hope that helps!
