These clamps are well made and designed. However, I had to modify them to make them work on my bike. I may have a lot of dropouts on my Mongoose DJ682 but they were longer than my dropout slot so I twisted the first comb to have a full range of adjustment. Works great now. If your slots are shorter than "standard" be prepared to change them, which is easy if you have a grinding wheel. I would buy them again in this case because the price is right and they are very good. The problem was probably with my bike rather than the tensioner.
