The real reason to get this cheese board really is to own a great piece of wood. While of course every board will be different, I have to say ours is really great. This is the kind of thing that people want to pick up and admire. Yes, this is a very attractive way of serving cheese and crackers. It is sanded smooth, machined and polished. He exudes skill. But it's the tree that makes it unforgettable. This is a 5 star item except for one reason. The word "CHEESE" was written on the wood in metal letters. They look out of place and yes (perhaps a bad pun) a bit vulgar. There is literally no need to include this and it reduces the overall impact of the piece. (Leather strap/handle doesn't make much sense but looks nice as part of the product). Overall, however, the quality and attractiveness that you expect from Pfaltzgraff and we are very satisfied.
