Review on 🍱 Crock-Pot 24-Ounce Lunch Crock Food Warmer Deluxe Edition - Purple: Convenient and Stylish Lunchtime Solution by Randy Albright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for people like me who work during lunch hours!

This is NOT a traditional slow cooker - it is a FOOD WARMER as the name suggests. WORKS EXACTLY as described. It's GREAT and I love it! This is so much better than using the office microwave! I've had it for a week, I've used it every day and will continue to use it every day. I keep the detachable base on my desk (next to my phone and computer—no big deal) and carry a bucket and liner to and from work. So far I've used it to reheat chilled homemade soups, chilled leftover parmesan chicken and pasta, and ready-made canned soups. I attach the bucket to the base at 9am, turn on the switch and eat whenever I can between 11:30am and 1pm. The food was hot every time. Soups are too hot to eat, they need a few minutes to cool down - just as they are served out of the pot at home. The smell from the pot while it's heating is minimal, almost non-existent, even if you're sitting next to it (although this actually depends on what was being heated - just like using a microwave can sometimes fill a building with aroma). This is a cute little heating pad, well made and carries the Crock-Pot name and reputation. Instructions for use are clear. The insert has a large serving size (24 oz) and is more than enough for lunch. The inner liner heats up so you eat out of the bucket instead of removing the liner. It's light and easy to hold. I take it off the pedestal and put it on the table next to me. It lifts easily and is very comfortable. The inner sleeve is a bit difficult to remove as it fits very snugly and seals very well. It has a ring that needs to be lifted when removing, but it's really firm - firm and secure enough that when you press the ring to lift the lid, the entire inner liner lifts up. I use the edge of a spoon to hold the liner and pry the lid very slightly to separate it from the liner when opening to eat. I don't think the food will spill or splash, but it's quite hot and I don't want to risk it. And of course I want to eat my food, not clean my table, clothes or floor. I believe this is the second generation of the midday warmer. I ordered it in February with the understanding that Revain would not be able to ship it until mid-May, but it actually arrived in early March. I haven't seen this in stores yet. I compared the two versions after seeing the original and reading about the improvements made to this model. I decided it was worth the wait. Price of another (model 200) ranged from $16 to $33 online and locally, different colors actually different prices. This model (240) was a bit more expensive but I think it's a very good price. It's easy to detach the base and cord and leave them in one place. Liner 4 oz. more so you can fill it with 20-22 oz. and still have a comfortable gap to prevent leakage when opened. I like the dark color of the bucket. The old style is sold with a white base and dark lid/handle and other attractive trendy colors but there doesn't seem to be any logic or justification for their price. All the colors of this model are attractive and seem to be the same price, at least for now. If I were to design a third generation I would probably redesign the outer cap to be easier to wear. I could change the inner lining to make it feel sturdier when I open it after the food is hot - little things that don't change the game. I would definitely sell the liner and inner cap for aftermarket purchase. Everyone would like to have one or two left on the shelf ready for use. Without a doubt, this is a GREAT little pot! I highly recommend it!
