This case is cute but it doesn't dock as advertised. I was immediately put off by this as that was the main reason we bought this case. I've seen reviews that said they could plug in their Switch and some said they just had to "force" it a little. We couldn't dock ours. If you wish, you can easily detach and replace the case while docked. The portion of the case that comes with the Switch was easy to attach or detach. However, removing the controller cases was an absolute nightmare. I thought I was going to break either the case or the controller, but I finally managed to get it out. It just won't work for us. 99% of the time our Switch is docked and we're playing on the TV. We have controller accessories that slide out to make it look more like a regular controller, and small steering wheels for racing games. We had to remove the little cases from the controllers almost every time we played as you can't use the controller accessories while they're in the case. If they were easier to take off we'd keep that and put suitcases on for travel or when needed, but for us it's just not worth the hassle. I think it all depends on how you use the Switch and personal preference. I will also say that the case is not particularly protective either, just mainly for looks.
