I have to say hello to my cute little solar powered handheld radio. I live semi-independently and now is the time to look for mushrooms. I have a few things in my bag that I think everyone should have. This small emergency radio is definitely one of them. It's almost a toy considering the size and feel. This worried me a bit upon unboxing, but I took it on my annual mushroom hunt and had more comments on this tiny thing than my new hair dyed pink. The solar function is sensitive and works right out of the box. To have a backup plan in the dark, you need easy-to-install AAA batteries. Didn't have to ask for much to use it during the 6.5 hours we spent there. The sound quality isn't very good and I didn't like the volume. Up close, this little guy was perfect for us. The flash isn't the best either, and I would compare it to garden sunlight. For what we need I have to say this is a pretty neat little setup.
