I bought this suit in size 8. This suit fit my very slender 9 year old pretty well (4'2", 55 lbs.) I still had to cinch the pants all the way up and they ended up a little ballooney around the waist, but you couldn't tell with the jacket on. Pants also do not have back pockets or come with a crease. My son usually wears size 10 slim pants and a youth Medium or size 8-10 shirt. The length was good on him all around except the arms which I expected since I had to size down for width. The pants were a good length though. One of the buttonholes in the shirt sleeve was not cut. The material is nicer than most cheap little kid suits (thick, and a nice blend rather than 100% polyester.) I like that the jacket has a double vent. He received tons of compliments and looked very sharp. You will definitely need a good steamer and a bit of time to get all the wrinkles out prior to wear.
