Hello! I have an 8" CST and a native f/10 aperture. F/10 sucks the brightness out of any subject! If you are interested in seeing anything other than planets, I personally believe and have mathematically verified that 1st : 6.3 focus reducer is a must. My scope now steers! Improves "brightness performance" for absolutely every type and brand of eyepiece; math fact. This is a must for CSTs of any size when doing visual observations of the DSO want to enjoy.
