Having read a few comments about it falling apart I'm happy to report that we've used it at least once a day and have been using it again one day works great a few months. The blades are still very sharp (be careful when washing by hand). I really like the aluminum frame, it's durable and comfortable to use. As with any blade, I wouldn't toss it in a drawer where cutting blades can become scratched or dull on other utensils. I hang my thoughts on a hook in the closet door. The apple slices are almost identical, which gives me an opportunity to get a little creative when serving my wife her evening apple. Oddly shaped apples may require a little more downforce on the tall side of the apple to keep the core flush with the coring wheel. A technique that you must master after the second apple. If/if it ever needs a replacement I will buy the same again without hesitation.
