Bad quality control. You get what you pay for.

If you are considering buying these, read all the reviews and make the right choice. I do most of the mechanical work on my cars so replacing a bad coil is pretty easy and doesn't take much time. I had an OEM coil in my 2008 Taurus X with 185,000 miles and I knew it was time to replace the entire kit. It was easy to pick up the whole set of six for $60 compared to $60 a piece at your local auto parts store. After 3 months you felt bad right before the trip. As a last resort, I paid full price for one at a local store and thought I'd gotten a bad one when I realized I'd paid so little for the whole set that it didn't really bother me. I contacted the seller and they offered me a prorated refund or sent me two new coils. It seemed better to carry two spare spools for insurance in case I need one in the future. Eight months later, that's exactly what happened. Another coil has failed. I replaced it with one of the spares and the problem was solved. Now it's only a matter of time before the next one comes along. Two coils out of six failed in 13 months, which is too many failures for me. I will not buy again.
