Review on BBQbuy Pencil Welding Soldering Lighter by Jason Paige

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I have loved these lighters for many years.

I've been a fan of these lighters since I found and first bought them here at Revain. Compared to many other similarly priced or more expensive butane gas, blue flame, piezo ignition refillable lighters, they seem to last longer. I think it's because the gas nozzle and piezo ignition doesn't work with one click. One click lighters seem like they die sooner because the piezo ignition either stops working or keeps working but stops striking a small arc, or more commonly, the internal spring mechanism is wedged inside and all -in -a button. and gets stuck. I've always found them easy to fuel which has been an issue with other lighters of this type which can be a waste of butane when trying to fuel things. The flame adjuster works very well and is very easy to access without having to find a small tool to turn the valve on the bottom, unlike the way you adjust the flame length/gas flow on other types of butane lighters/ readjust. , where this is controlled by the fidgeting of the screw mechanism and by trial and error. The throttle switch is hard and won't turn on accidentally, plus you can usually hear the throttle. The ignition button is also sturdy, making it unlikely to accidentally light it, or even ask a child to pick it up and try to light it, while a child might be using a lighter with an all-in-one push button can easily ignite. I only use this as a lighter, and since there's an option to light it up as a blue flame or switch to a regular flame (you have to light the flame blue first anyway), I tape the red switch to the side because it can be switched move by itself in your pocket, causing it to ignite and it won't work. Since I use it as a lighter, if I'm ever asked to light it, I always remind people not to put their hand on it like many habitual smokers do. Also, the flame may not be visible in bright sunlight. Other features are that it has a nifty little extendable stand if you want to use it for a bit of soldering. Besides, I just love it. I love how it looks, how it glows, that it's windproof and very reliable. Something either goes wrong when I have enough time, or I lose it somehow, which isn't unusual for me. I'm always losing something and at this point I'll definitely be jumping on Revain and ordering more.

Pros
  • Welding and Soldering
Cons
