Review on Household Essentials H12101 Hinge Clutterbuster by Marvin Perry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very happy with my purchase! The installation requires some settings.

I was hesitant to order this because of the bad reviews but I'm so glad I did! I actually ordered a third door hinge based on several reviews, but ended up not needing it at all. With a few tweaks, this turned out to be absolutely perfect for me. needs. It took about 10 minutes to install, which wasn't too bad after all the trial and error. The instructions weren't very helpful, so I've included a few hacks below in case they might be helpful to someone else. Removing the door pin: Before removing the door pin, insert something into the space between the door and the floor to keep the door level after removing the pin. Use the hammer and nail to knock the door pin out of its hinge. No need to buy extra fancy tools.2. Installing Jambs:- Ignore the instructions for installing brackets based on the length between door hinges. I ended up using the "up" position for both the top and bottom, even though the instructions said to use the "up" position for the top and the "down" position for the bottom use. Also, ignore the instructions for assembling the bar before attaching it to the hinge, as the bars will continue to slide apart during the process. The one below is a little more difficult. Hold the brace over the hinge and find ways to use the "up" or "down" position to find where the screw hole lines up with the hole in the brace (you'll see what I mean, when you see the screw). hole and bracket hole area). It takes some trial and error to find the perfect spot. After finding this spot, you can tighten the screw. When reinserting the pin, use a hammer to push the pin down until it is fully wedged. Start with the top loop. This part is especially important when attempting to install the rest of the rack. If you don't hit the pin securely, it will pop out when you install the other parts of the pole, especially the bottom.3. Installing the Levers: Install the "levers" after installing the rods on the hinge. The instructions include this as part of step 1, but just ignore that part. The "arms" will continue to fall off as you install the racks, so skip the hassle and just save this step for last. The part that shakes is the "hands". I found the rest of the Clutter Buster to be very durable. After assembling the bars, I stuck the levers into the bar, but I applied some industrial grade glue between the gaps where the bars inserted into the bars (you'll see what I mean when you install). It made the arms stop shaking. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product. It requires some tweaking, but I feel like it was worth the time and effort for me.
