A simple solution to a dangerous problem
It was definitely cheaper than replacing the entire taillight assembly. This is no different from the original part; which could not transmit lamp voltage to light bulbs due to poor design/age. The lamps kept losing contact with the metal contacts on the old circuit boards. Every few weeks I would have to remove one or both assemblies and wiggle the connectors because one or both brake lights stopped working. It's been a year since I replaced the circuit boards in both tail light assemblies and both brake lights still work great.
