Great razor, but has a safety issue

I love having this razor on me at our ranch, but there is one design issue that I don't understand, the back edge of the razor is visible. Not the sharp razors edge, but the other side, still sharp enough to cause some damage if you hit it with your hand. Not sure why it's out in the open like that.

The button to open the knife sticks heavily after opening 10 times with light use.

Cons

The red color may not appeal to everyone's taste
