Edit: I don't trust these pears anymore. A day after the first burned out (after 2 days of use), the second burned out similarly to the first. Inside, both bulbs were obscured by smoke and burn marks. The male threaded part that screws into the socket has turned from brass to blue as if they are too hot. The lights are located in the fan and are rated at 60 watts. Until recently we used compact fluorescent lamps without any problems. I have ordered some GE bulbs for replacement and will not take any more chances with these bulbs.
