I didn't expect to like this skirt as much as I did. I got the taupe color for a trip to Europe. It's flattering, in spite of all the gathering which I was afraid would make me look wider. It's a soft jersey than falls nicely. The skirt goes with so many tops and looks cute with either sandals or white sneakers. The pockets are a bonus! I went with the small and it is more than roomy. I might have even gotten by with an XS, but maybe would have struggled to get it over my hips as some others have mentioned. I had no struggles with the small. For reference, I am 5'3.5" and 136lbs with a 31" waist.
