As a Sony Mini DV owner I have decided to buy Sony branded tapes. While I'm not usually a brand-sensitive person, I've read some reviews that say you should stick to the same brands when it comes to magnetic media like tape. Also, because of the lubricants that different manufacturers use, you probably shouldn't switch from one brand to another after a significant period of use. However, I'm interested in trying Sony HD Mini DV tapes even though my camera isn't an HD model. Since both tapes are Sony I think the switch would be fine. Overall, these tapes are pretty standard quality tapes, like the other precinct mentioned. You are reliable. If you're looking to buy Sony Mini DV, these cassettes are for you.
