All in all I was very happy to get this game. As a kid I played all the Pokemon games for the Gameboy and only dreamed of playing a Pokemon game on my TV or on the go with such a big bright screen. After playing it for two days now, I'm very disappointed. Wild Pokémon encounters don't actually let you fight Pokémon. Instead, you spend the next 2 minutes of your life repeatedly snapping your wrist until you catch a stupid Pokemon. Though it annoyed me I thought my 5 year old would be interested in trying it. However, after about 10 minutes, he got bored with the game mechanics of catching Pokémon multiple times. How difficult is it to just offer the ability to battle wild Pokémon and also catch them? It's also very easy to level up your Pokemon. Catching a wild Pokemon grants all of your Pokemon a decent amount of experience. Over the course of about an hour of play, I caught a few random Pokemon, and all of the main Pokemon in my party were around level 12. However, there were very few battles that got me to this point, and instead I only had 8 various metapods and other duplicates of random Pokemon caught and rescued. So stupid. All in all, if you enjoy wasting your time on a game that requires no skill and very little fun, buy this game. As for me, I'll probably return it as it was expensive at launch and gave very little pleasure. Instead of focusing on training and leveling up your Pokémon, you can now pet your Pikachu. It's fun for about 2 seconds and then you'll probably never do it again. You can also dress your Pikachu in silly clothes. Fun for about 2 seconds and then you don't care. Also, you can't even use a professional controller with it, another annoyance as sometimes trees and things get in your way, but you can't pan the camera due to controller limitations. around. What a huge mistake and miss nintendo with this game. Because of the console's rich screen, good hardware, etc., there were so many options for the perfect Pokémon game. Instead we have a game that tries really hard to be awful and doesn't work at all. Nobody wants to catch 10 of the same Pokemon. No one cares that they can pet their Pokémon. Nobody cares that they can dress up their Pokemon. Whoever ran this project/game literally went out of their way to ruin such a promising game on such a promising platform. I'll try to return the game because it's just not interesting. What a waste of my life, time and money.
