I wasn't sure about ordering these for my very expensive glasses. I was afraid that I might scratch the lenses, but they absolutely do not scratch! There is a spring clip that you open and put these glasses over regular lenses. All parts that come into contact with the lenses are covered with plastic or rubber. They stay in place and don't slip. The lenses are very easy to lift up when you don't need them. I use them to read sheet music on a music stand. My regular glasses are progressive bifocals, but the bifocals are at the bottom of the lenses and I can't use them unless they're pointing my nose at the ceiling. These clip-on clips provide extra magnification right where I need it. I have also used them for small crafts, sewing and beadwork.
