Doesn't look or feel like a mat in real life. It looks like a blanket and slides over it like that. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a rug. Update: The company was very kind to send a non-slip pad underneath to see if that would help with the look and glide. It doesn't help much. For me as my guest, the "carpet" looks like an enlarged serviette. No carpet at all. Although it's very nice of them to try and help, not much has changed in my honest review. I think it would work better outside under a table or hammock. If that were the case I would give it more stars as it's better suited to the road. I can't give a dishonest review of something I don't think is worth the money spent on it. This is my honest review. I hope it helps.
