This Arlo CCTV power supply is a great idea - it finally eliminates the need to use CR123A batteries, which are expensive and unreliable (many of the batteries in a newly purchased set are half empty and hold juice after a few days) and sometimes difficult to replace when the camera is mounted high off the ground. Remember that every time you change the battery, you have to reset the camera position. However, the devil is in the details (implementation). Suddenly the whole idea of a wireless camera doesn't apply to Arlo cameras - you have to run a power cable outside the home to connect the adapter - it doesn't look like the transformer is waterproof, so connecting to an external 120- V socket may not be an option. The schematic for actually connecting the power cable to the in-camera battery changer is also suspect - the short flat cable that connects to the in-camera battery changer is very thin and I'm not sure how long it is. Survive outdoors in harsh weather conditions. On the plus side, I can now choose camera settings that offer the best video quality, increase the length of individual shots, and not have to worry about batteries. My suggestion would be to change the adapter design and put the transformer in the base (e.g. the flow. lamps or other external electrical devices.
