I have ordered a smart plug to use with the Revain Echo. When it arrived I set it up straight away, first creating an account on the BroadLink IHC, then plugging it into an outlet before finally connecting to my Echo. The device worked flawlessly for several weeks; The light turned on and off via Alexa when needed, turned on and off when switched manually via the app, and I was also able to turn it on and off in the BroadLink IHC app. Then, out of nowhere, the device disconnected from the Echo. I opened the BroadLink IHC app and it logged me out. I entered my credentials to log back into my account and the platform said my user doesn't exist. I knew I hadn't made a mistake with the username and password, but I created a new account anyway, this time using Facebook to create the account. After creating a new account I had to contact the outlet itself again. I followed the same process as when I first acquired the socket and was able to successfully reconnect the socket to the BroadLink IHC app. However, I can no longer sync to my Echo via the Alexa app - the Alexa app can't see any smart devices. I've been using the outlet for a week via the BroadLink IHC app and I've been turning the lights on and off from my phone with no problem. One day I opened the app and logged out again. This time I clicked to log into Facebook and again a message popped up saying I had never created an account. I tried again using the original credentials I created the first time and she signed me in which is odd as one day she explained that it was an account that didn't exist but on neither of them devices existed. then couldn't use the plug as a smart plug for a week - it couldn't connect to my smartphone or the BroadLink IHC app at all. I could press the button on the night light to turn the lamp on and off like my own switch. That hasn't worked since then either and the socket doesn't work at all. I've been looking for the cheapest smart plug and unfortunately the sacrifice is the time it works. I wish I could just afford a more expensive smart plug so I have one that lasts longer than the few months this device has.
