Of all the toys my son got for his birthday, Gears! was the first one we took out of the box and everyone, including the adults, started playing right away. My 2 year old took part but this toy was too advanced for him. My four year old loves it and can make some really cool things. The husband built a crane, we all had fun watching the work. I read many reviews before buying it and the one I wanted to speak to was that the hardware is too tight for small hands to pick apart. That's true, but without them the toy wouldn't work as well. So if you're reading this toy negativity, please don't let that stop you from buying Gears! We didn't remove this toy and I like it too! I quit farming and dug up toys. This tech toy is a welcome change, allowing everyone to create together and fun individually too.
