The Pyle PAMP1000 makes an excellent subwoofer amplifier for Audiosource's 8-inch wall-mounted subwoofer. I set it up in bridge mode and it delivers enough performance. It is connected to my Yamaha RX-V471 via an RCA cable from "Subwoofer" to Line 2 of the right RCA input of the Pyle amp. From there, the speaker wires connect to speaker A Right + and Left -, which the manual specifies for use in bridge mode. I set up my 5.1 system with Yamaha Autotuning. Before I started, I turned the volume on the Pyle subwoofer halfway down (as per the Yamaha subwoofer setup guide). Then I ran autotune. Yamaha set the subwoofer level to +10 dB. If I find there is too much or too little bass, I turn the Pyle subwoofer up or down. I found that just over half is almost perfect. Auto-on also works as expected for this amp. When I turn on the TV, the Yamaha turns on, then Pyle turns on a few seconds later, and then the bass turns on. When I turn off the TV, the Yamaha turns off and it takes about 5 minutes for the Pyle to turn off. This amp was more expensive than the plate amp I was also considering, but it fits snugly in my cabinet and I can easily tune it. I would put a record amp in my basement or closet and the setup would be an ordeal. It was worth paying extra for this convenience. The price of $84.99 for this device seems reasonable. For performance, comfort and price I give 5 stars. I wanted this review to provide the information I was looking for when considering this unit as a subwoofer amp.
