Review on πŸ“Ί Roku Streambar Pro: 4K/HD/HDR Media Player with Cinematic Sound and Roku Voice Remote by Elizabeth Silva

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very happy no regrets

Very happy after a few weeks of use replacing a much older Yamaha soundbar. Improved image quality compared to a Roku Ultra purchased a few years ago. My wife and I both noticed that the picture quality seems to have improved, maybe a newer better HDMI cable? However, expected benefit! The sound quality is good, solid - I'm satisfied. I'm not a music lover, but when listening to music I like to distinguish between different instruments and artists - no problem, nice clear sound. I also have hearing loss and have had trouble following dialogue in the past (even with Yamaha's ClearVoice feature) and the Soundbar Pro seems to help with that. Louder than I've ever used. I usually have a volume of 14, I expect 100 to turn the house into ruins. Easy control with the volume up/down buttons on the side of the remote control. (My Yamaha soundbar needed its own remote control which was unreliable, glad it's gone.) Easy install. Roku consistently outperforms out-of-the-box solutions. A little disappointed with the remote control. It comes with a voice remote (with a 3.5mm headphone jack for private listening, which I like), but uses two AA batteries. I thought the Streambar Pro comes with the newer Voice Remote Pro with a built in battery that can be charged with a micro USB cable. Oh well. Multiple configuration options. That's probably good for a consumer product and it wasn't a problem for me, the factory settings seem fine. However, I would like a little more control, e.g. B. Reduce the bass and increase the mids to hear dialogue better. I've looked for similar things in the settings but haven't found anything. No micro SD card expansion. We use over a dozen channels and sometimes have to wait (very briefly) for the channel app to download and install. That means Roku didn't put a lot of storage into the Streambar Pro *and* skipped the micro SD card option, so I could pay extra to fix that. A minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless. It looks good in front of my TV. The bottom of the TV (on its stand) is 1 inch higher than the top of the soundbar on my TV stand. I love that the lights on the soundbar flash when I press a button on the remote, but quickly dim so they're not visible while I'm watching a show. I am very satisfied with this product, I have no regrets.
