Review on Dyson HP02 Pure Hot + Cool Link Air Purifier with Wi-Fi, White/Silver by Jessica Nunez

Superior heating, ventilation and filtration in a tiny package

I bought one and was so excited I ordered a second one the same week. I've been using it for a little over a month and it's amazing so far. I used to have 3 Germ Guardian air filters, 2 Vornado tower fans and 1 Vornado heater. I replaced them all with two Dyson fans and freed up SO MUCH space in my apartment. They fit perfectly on a dresser or in the hallway. It's worth it for the space savings and cable management alone, but Dyson's ventilation, filtration and heating outperform older units in every category. I have disabled wifi and don't use the app at all, so I can't comment on those parts. But I really appreciate that YOU CAN DISABLE WiFi so your fan doesn't join the Mirai botnet or try to blackmail you. Key features so far: - Heats up a small bedroom in about 10 minutes - Prevents my wife from being allergic to dust when cleaning. (She even commented on this for me) - Wife doesn't complain about fan noise (she complains about Vornado fans) - Night mode makes the display dark enough to sleep next to I was curious how much it would cost me, all around the clock to work 7 so i connected the P3 P4400 Kill A Watt Power Usage Monitor. At fan level 5 (medium), it only consumes 14 watts – less than a light bulb. When I turned on the heater, it drew a whopping 1400 watts! That's 100 times more than Fan 5! Keep an eye on your electricity bill if you use the heater frequently. In my area, running a fan 24/7 at speed 5 costs me about $2 a month. Running the heater for 8 hours costs me $2.50. Here is the table of measurements I made: - Fan 5 + heater 1350W - Fan 10 43W - Fan 9 35W - Fan 8 28W - Fan 7 22.5W - Fan 6 18W - Fan 5 14 W - Fan 4 11W - Fan 3 8.5W - Fan 2 6.5W - Fan 1 5.5W

Pros
  • The HEPA filter removes 99.97% of allergens and pollutants down to 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. A second layer of activated carbon filter traps household odors and VOCs like paint fumes
Cons
  • Big and bulky
