Purple Thang is the most useful tool you will ever have when embroidering by car or quilting machine. It allows you to place the fabric right under the needle and slide it in place with no fuss. Protects against needlesticks. In the past I've had trouble getting the stitches close to the Y stitch and not skipping a stitch. It can help you a lot if your fingers just can't get into that tight hole or bobbin thread. It's also a good idea to have more than one. Someone always borrows it to glue something.
