This is the coolest and most convenient product. Bought for Samsung Galaxy S7. Internet is not required for your TV. Whatever you're watching on your phone, you can watch it full screen on your TV with this device. I have the DirecTV app so it's great to be able to catch shows I missed or rent movies through Revain Prime, Youtube or even pay per view on Directv and stream them to my TV. I'm not tech savvy, but it took about four minutes to set up. Those two minutes got him out of the box. You literally plug it into your HDMI TV, change the input on your TV to whatever HDMI display you're currently connected to, use the drop down screen and click Smart View, it finds the device and connects . This is absolutely my new favorite gadget. There is a small button on the side of the device that you should change to "cast" if you don't have internet on your TV. Also, the very first time you use it, enter the password that is written in big letters at the top of the screen. After that, just press Smart View on your phone and wait for your phone to appear on the screen. I cannot say enough good things about this product. Best $20 I've ever spent.
