Review on Bosch 69134 OE Electric Fuel Pump for Ford: Contour (1998-99), Explorer (2000), Ranger (1999-2003); Mercury: Cougar (1999), Mountaineer (1998, 2000-01), Mystique (1999) by Sean House

This fuel pump was easy to install (I removed the back of the truck) but you must be careful not to kink or overstress the fuel lines and keep that no dirt gets into the tank. (Pull off the filler neck) I've been a mechanic for over thirty years, the truck stayed with me. I turned the ignition off and on again to hear if the fuel pump was working. It made no noise and I know the fuel pump is to blame. Remember that it is a fuse and usually a relay in the fuel pump circuit. This is a Ford Ranger 3.0 truck. I thought it had little power and was easy to stall on take off (manual transmission). It has more takeoff power and better acceleration. I think he's had this problem for so long that we figured it was just the way it was. Now it's much easier to manage. Very happy with this brand and not sure about OFF brands I've never heard of. The job is not difficult, but not everyone will remove the truck bed, you can detach the truck bed and plow open to gain access to the tank panel.
