A worthy successor to Neutrogena Naturals

I've been buying Neutrogena Naturals lip balm for years, although in recent years the price has risen to over $10 a tube. I recently contacted Revain and found it was missing and a quick google search revealed the product was discontinued. I was very disappointed because it was a purely natural product with very high quality ingredients. Without a doubt, this was the best lip balm I've ever used - instead of a waxy finish applied to my lips, I felt it really sink into my lips, deeply hydrating and repairing them. Moisturizing is unlike any regular lip balm. After buying some Carmex from the store as a last resort, I realized I had to find a replacement. So I started looking for lip balms with similar ingredients like Neutrogena Naturals and Kind Lips Organic that worked just fine for me. How does it compare? So far, so good. It appears to be a little oilier than NN but seems to have a very similar moisturizing effect. The taste is even more neutral, with subtle hints of natural oils, which I prefer to the subtle mint flavor of NN. I just wish it was a little less greasy, but if I didn't have a NN to compare I probably wouldn't notice. But it's nice to see that unlike NN, all the ingredients are organic and they donate 20% to anti-bullying. Pretty cool! And at a pretty reasonable price (at least compared to NN). As noted below, the primary ingredient in Kind Lips is coconut oil, while Neutrogena Naturals is beeswax. Overall, while the two products are similar, I think NN had "more expensive" ingredients like beeswax, jojoba oil, and sesame oil. However, both formulas are very similar: Kind Lips contains coconut oil while NN does not, and NN contains sesame oil, sunflower oil and cocoa seed oil while Kind Lips does not. Despite these differences, both products contain very good natural emollients. For comparison, here are the ingredient lists of both products: Kind Lips: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Olea Europea (Olive Oil), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Neutrogena Naturals : Beeswax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba), Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Oil, Aroma, Butter Theobroma Cocoa Seed (Cocoa), Tocopherol (Vitamin E )

Pros
  • LONG-TERM MOISTURE: Our goal was to create a lip balm that really works. The longer you use Kind Lips, the less you need to apply, so your lips stay nourished, hydrated and protected all day long. We believe less is more, which is why we've designed a formula with the highest quality ingredients, as little as possible. Our balms nourish and hydrate dry lips with soothing ingredients.
