I use these batches to start cooking on the stovetop and finish cooking in the oven. It's heavy and well made, but scratches easily. I really shouldn't have used my stainless spoon to scoop food out of it. I ended up with a few light scratches so I've since switched to silicone coated stainless steel cookware with great results. I love how this pan cooks! I find I'm just not used to stainless steel being scratched. I'm not sure why this is happening with 18/10 stainless steel. Even my older, cheaper stainless steel pans didn't scratch any metal utensils, but because of the way this pan cooks, I give it 5 stars! While it's lighter than a stockpot of the same brand, it's quite heavy, so get ready to pack on some muscle mass. giggle
