As a pilot, I recently started recording cockpit videos and vlogs. I needed at least 4 action cameras. Of course, like you, I considered the GoPro first. However, after careful research, I realized that not only are they grossly overpriced and don't support accessories well, but they also have an infamous "hang" that they can't fix. TO KID. I decided to try this camera. I bought a set of 4 and the total cost was about half the cost of a GoPro. Thought it wouldn't hurt to try for the price. So I ordered. Now for my actual review: PROS: 1. This camera comes with accessories - two batteries, charger, cage and lots of mounts. If I were to buy a GoPro, DJI Osmo, Garmin, etc. I would pay at least $100 just for these accessories. The picture quality is decent. I compared it to a GoPro video and although the images look different I can't say which is better or clearer.3. The rear window is very bright and functional.4. The price is correct! Basically, when you buy a GoPro, you're only paying for the name. I can put Akaso on the wing of my plane and not worry about it falling off mid-flight (this has happened to some of my pilot friends and their GoPros. Oops). CONS: 1. Red No-Record Indicator: If you look at the front of the camera, you can't tell if it's recording or not. I have to rely on the back screen.2. No bluetooth audio input. I wish they had this feature. The only camera I'm aware of with this feature is the Garmin Ultra 30, which costs about 6 times the price. SUMMARY The price is low, but the image quality is not. If you're in the market, your choice is between a GoPro and this one. And the difference is comparable to buying a known drug and a generic that contains the same ingredient. Except in this case, the generic is about 1/6 the price!
